 Interlibrary Loan Request Form|

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service provided to borrow materials that are not owned by Richardson Public Library. Persons requesting interlibrary loans must be property owners or residents of Richardson and have a Richardson Public Library card.

How does Interlibrary Loan work?

When Richardson Public Library receives an Interlibrary Loan request, a query is sent to a list of owning libraries requesting the loan of the copy. Once the material is received at Richardson Public Library, you will be notified that you can check out the requested item, or, rarely, use the material in the Reference Area.

How do I make a request?

Before requesting an Interlibrary Loan, please check the Library Catalog to verify that Richardson Public Library does not own the item.

There are several ways to request an Interlibrary Loan. At the library, each information desk has forms to fill in for a request. Information for requests can also be taken over the phone at

972-744-4355. The ILL Request Form is available for requesting materials online.

We will not accept requests for reference books or materials published or released within the last six months. High demand or popular materials will probably be unavailable. For help in locating citation information, check in the many databases the library offers.
